The Whitewright Sun Friday, June 16, 1916 pg. 5 Mrs. John Marshall died Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home three and a half miles southwest of this city. Mrs. Marshall was about fifty years of age and had been in ill health several months. She is survived by her husband and several children. The burial was at Vittitoe Cemetery Saturday. The Whitewright Sun Thursday, May 21, 1931 FATHER 26 CHILDREN BURIED AT VITTITOE John T. Marshall, aged 79, native Texan and father of 26 children, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S.H. Murphy, southwest of town, Tuesday afternoon. The funeral and burial services were held at the Vittitoe Cemetery Wednesday afternoon with Rev. J.A. Henderson and Rev. Garner of Tom Bean in charge. The deceased was married first to Miss Sarah Teague, sister of the late Rev. I.E. Teague. To this union 10 children were born. His second marriage was to Mrs. Mary Todd and to this union 16 children were born. Mrs. Todd was the mother of 3 children at the time of her marriage to Mr. Marshall. Mr. Marshall was born in the Little Rock community, southwest of Whitewright, November 16, 1851, and his entire life was spent in that community. He had been a member of the Baptist church for more than 50 years.
