Funeral services for Mrs. Tramel will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 7, at the Church of Christ in Tom Bean, TX. Mr. A. C. Quinn will officiate. Interment will be in the Vittitoe Cemetery in Grayson County, TX. Mrs. Tramel was born December 7, 1909, to John F. and Johnnie Ball. On June 25, 1932, she married John Elijah Tramel of the Wilson Community, near Bazette. He was the son of Jasper and Bedia (Deskin) Tramel. She was a life-long resident of Grayson County. She graduated from Tom Bean High School and furthered her education at Harding Christian College and graduated from Austin College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught school one year at the Wilson School, near Bazette, in Navarro County. She retired from Tom Bean Elementary School in 1972. In her younger years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as well as attending church services at Tom Bean Church of Christ with her husband, John, who was an elder. Surviving are her daughter, Florene Griffin and her husband, James of Tom Bean; grandsons, John Griffin and wife, Becky, Eddie Griffin and wife, Tabethia, all of Tom Bean; great grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Kinzie and Demi Griffin, also of Tom Bean; sisters-in-law, Etta Brown of Powell, TX, Leolar Warren, Mildred Warren and husband, Square, of Kerens, TX, Betty Mann and husband, Bob, of Fort Worth, TX; brother-in-law, Foy Brown of Kerens, TX; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her husband, John Tramel, and one infant son. Visitation is from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Earnheart Funeral Home in Whitewright, which has charge of the arrangements.
