Dee Aldridge 27 October 1944 - 24 February 2013 Curless Aldridge 11 July 1942 - wed 23 August 1963 The Herald Democrat February 26 to February 27, 2013 WHITEWRIGHT - Delores June "Dee" Aldridge, 68, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Medical Center of Plano after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Vittitoe Cemetery in Kentuckytown. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Steve Polston, Eddie Horn, Gerardo Mungioli, Roger White, Gary Sewell and Kenny Edwards. Dee was born Oct. 27, 1944 in Whitewright, the daughter of Ben and Kate Denton. From an early age, she shared her father's love of farming and ranching and became his top hand and best friend. When not in school, she could be found mending fences, plowing fields, riding the pastures on horseback, moving livestock or handling any of the many required chores. She graduated from Whitewright High School and married her long-time friend and sweetheart, Curless Aldridge on Aug. 23, 1963 at the Baptist Church in the Ely community. After moving to Denison, Dee got a job in the Retail Advertising Department of the former Denison Herald newspaper. She continued that job until March 2012 when she retired after almost 44 years of service. She was also a successful Avon representative for 25-plus years, her face a familiar favorite at local trades days. As Dee and Curless's two children grew up, followed by the grandsons, Dee took an active role in their school events, softball, music, bowling, soccer and more, becoming a master at juggling her busy career with the children's hectic schedules. For her family, friends and customers, Dee leaves behind a legacy of strong work ethics, down-to-earth common sense, loyalty, fairness and perseverance. Dee is survived by her beloved family, husband, Curless Aldridge of Denison; daughter, Tina Aldridge of Denison; son, Tony Aldridge and wife, Sandy of Denison; two grandsons, Josh Mooneyham of New York City, N.Y. and Matt Mooneyham of Denison; and great-grandson, Rhyder Mooneyham of Denison. Dee was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bennie Faye Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
