BADGETT DIES: RITES THURSDAY Whitewright (spl) - Funeral services for Arthur J. Badgett, 67, of Rt. 2, Whitewright, will be held at Earnheart Funeral Home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He died at the VA hospital in Dallas, December 25, 1962 and was a World War I veteran. Interment will be in the Vittitoe Cemetery at Kentuckytown. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Kate Jenkins Badgett of the home; a son, David Badgett; a granddaughter, Miss Donna Shaw; two brothers, E.M. and Edwin Badgett; and a sister, Mrs. W.L. Hatfield, all of Whitewright. Born March 20, 1895 at Whitewright, Mr. Badgett was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Judson Badgett. He was a member of the Baptist church, a Mason and a retired farmer but had been employed in Sherman. The Whitewright Sun Friday, February 10, 1967 pg. 2 SERVICES SET SATURDAY FOR MRS. BADGETT Whitewright (spl) - Mrs. Arthur J. Badgett, 67, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 1967, in a Whitewright nursing home. She had been in ill health for several months. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Earnheart Funeral chapel with the Rev. Bob Saylor, Kentuckytown Baptist, and the Rev. Houston Garner, Hebron Baptist, officiating. Interment will be in Vittitoe Cemetery. Mrs. Badgett was born April 24 [sic], 1899 at Whitewright, daughter of the late William L. Jenkins and Mrs. Mary Jane Jenkins. She married Mr. Badgett at Sherman April 19, 1924. She was a member of the Kentuckytown Baptist Church. Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Jenkins of Whitewright; a son, David Badgett of Whitewright; six brothers, John, Bill and Walter Jenkins, all of Whitewright; Patrick Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Ted Jenkins of Dallas and Clyde Jenkins of Grand Prairie; five sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Stephens of Bells, Mrs. Ralph Skipworth of Lewisville, Mrs. Elbert Stephenson of Bakersfield, California; Mrs. Joe Dickson of Lemon Grove, California; and Mrs. Howard Kincaid of Dallas and one grandchild.
