The Whitewright Sun Thursday, July3, 1924 pg.2 J.E. PENNELL BURIED AT TOM BEAN LAST MONDAY J.E. (Bud) Pennell died last Saturday at a Sanitarium in Dallas. The remains were brought to the home of the decedent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Pennell, of Tom Bean, and at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon funeral services were held at the Baptist Church there. Rev. J.F. Fender, Presbyterian minister of Whitewright, conducted the funeral service. Interment was in Vittitoe Cemetery. Several Whitewright friends and acquaintances of the family attended the obsequies. Mr. Pennell was 54 years of age. He was reared in Tom Bean community and resided on a farm in that section until about a year ago when he moved to Denton. He is survived by his parents and 3 younger brothers.
