Johnson Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. for Mrs. Martha Blanks Johnson, 69, who died Saturday at 11 a.m. after an illness of more than a year. Rev. J.L. Truett conducted the service, and burial was in Vittitoe Cemetery south of Kentuckytown. Pallbearers were Claud Dillon, Cull Reeves, Grover Stuteville, Charlie Stuteville, Earl Fields and Jack Biggerstaff. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of W.N. Johnson, who preceded her in death more than a year ago. She was the daughter of Irving and Lucinda Blanks, who came from Georgia and settled in Grayson County in 1860. She was born at Kentuckytown and moved to Whitewright 22 years ago. She had been a Christian since childhood, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was married in 1886 to C.H. Wisdom and they had six children, four of whom survive. In 1905 she was married to W.N. Johnson, three children being born to this union, all of them surviving. Her seven children were present when she died. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Johnnie Johnson of Whitewright, Neil Wisdom of Hobbs, N.M.; Mrs. Hattie Harrington of Lubbock; Mrs. Nellis Askins of Burknette; Mrs. Pearl Hart and Mrs. Alma Aydelott of Hobbs, N.M.; and Mrs. Lillie Currington of Olney. Two sisters and five brothers also survive: Miss Alice Blanks of Whitewright, and Mrs. Willie Stapleton of Denison; Jesse Blanks of Whitewright, Allie Blanks of Seymour, Jim Blanks of Caddo, Okla., and Joe and John Blanks of Denton.
