Fred J. Lumpkin 2 July 1908 - 30 January 1972 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, February 3, 1972 Pg. 4 Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Earnheart Funeral Chapel for Fred Jeffereson Lumpkin, who died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday in Conway, Arkansas. He was a native of Whitewright and a retired supervisor for the Dallas Transport Co. Bill Baker, Church of Christ minister of Whitewright, officiated with burial in Vittitoe Cemetery. Mr. Lumpkins, 63, was born July 2, 1908 in Whitewright, the son of Mrs. Beulah Lumpkin and the late Jess Lumpkin. He married Frances Vickers November 29, 1957. They were residents of Mayflower, Arkansas. Survivors include his wife of Mayflower; his mother of Whitewright; three sons, Freddie A. Lumpkin and Aaron Rhea Lumpkin, both of Dallas, and Norman L. Lumpkin of Victoria; one stepson, Jerry Campbell of Dallas; two brothers, Ray Lumpkin of Whitewright and Horace L. Lumpkins of Canton; and five grandchildren.
