Jewel B. Fleming 12 October 1906 - 23 January 1988 James B. Fleming 20 December 1904 - 1 April 1971 Bells - James "Weldon" Fleming passed awas on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at home on the family homestead. Weldon was also born on the family place on August 9, 1934 to James and Jewell Fleming. He graduated from Bells High School in 1952. He met the love of his life, a Whitewright girl, Lynda Pannell. They were married on July 5, 1958 after his discharge from the United States Army. Soon after he married, he owned a restaurant in El Paso. Weldon was famous among family members for his tasty enchiladas, however, most remember him as a car salesman and wholesale car dealer. During his career he worked for Chase Chevrolet and owned two dealerships. Weldon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynda; sons, David Fleming of Whitewright; Dwight Fleming and wife Susan of Bells; Donald Fleming of Bells; Jay Ford of Bells; "favorite and only daughter" Cheryl Herriage and husband Robert of Denison; grandchildren: Kathryn Fleming, Conan Fleming, Ambrose Fleming, and Jaycob Ford; brother, Charley Fleming and his wife Betty of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bob Fleming. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 22 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Virginia Point Methodist Church north of Bells with Rev. Louella Williams officiating. Burials will be at Virginia Point Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers for Weldon are Joey Pannell, Bobby Fleming, Steve Ford, Jeff Fleming, David Whitlock, and Gary Whitlock. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Killough, Jonah Ray Saxon and Ray RIdings. In lieu of flowers donations to Virginia Point Methodist Church will be appreciated.
