Elizabeth Templeton 16 December 1869 - 10 January 1971 The Bonham Daily Favorite Monday, January 11, 1971 pg. 2 Bells - Mrs. Elizabeth Templeton, 101, the oldest member of the Virginia Point Methodist Church, died in a Shreveport, Louisiana nursing home at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 1971. She had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services were held at the Virginia Point Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Lawrence Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Virginia Point Cemetery with Mullican-Little directing. Mrs. Templeton was born December 16, 1869 in Salem, Illinois, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Pitts. She married A.P. Templeton December 2, 1897. He preceded her in death in 1917. She moved to Mesquite with her parents when she was 8 years old and to the Virginia Point area 2 years later. She had made her home in the Virginia Point community until 1962 when she moved to Shreveport. Survivors are a son, Amos Templeton of Bells; daughter, Mrs. F.W. Wylie, Sr. of Shreveport; 2 grandsons, Lt. Col. F.W. Wylie, Jr. of Shreveport and Pat Templeton of Denison; and 5 great-grandchildren. Irene Hansard Templeton 7 February 1907 - 4 February 1998 Amos Patton Templeton, Jr. 23 April 1899 - 14 March 1990 Amos "Pat" Patton Templeton, III, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the age of 81 of mesothelioma cancer. He was born in Whitewright, Texas on February 23, 1937, the only son of Amos Patton Templeton, Jr. and Irene Hansard Templeton. A descendant of the Templeton family who settled in the area in the 1860s, Pat graduated from Bells High School in 1955. He continued his education at Grayson County College, graduating in 1978 with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Pat married Geraldine A. Misko on August 14, 1959 in Denison, Texas, and together, they had 3 sons, Gregory Scott, Todd Curtis, and Kirk Patton. Pat served in the Army National Guard from January 1960 to December 1966. He served on active duty from October 1961 to 1962. He worked for Safeway Stores from 1954 to 1958, for Johns Manville from 1959 to 1966. for Texas Instruments from 1966 to 1996, and for MEMC Southwest from 1996 to 1998. He married Johnnie F. Watson on January 22, 2007 in Lake Frankston, Texas. Pat was a lifelong member, supporter and caretaker of Virginia Point Methodist Church and Cemetery in Savoy, Texas. He will be the 5th generation Templeton family member to be buried at Virginia Point Cemetery. He was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America in Grayson County, serving in various leadership roles. He spent his entire life doing things for others. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie; Todd and Karen Templeton; Kirk and Lori Templeton; Rocky and Chris Watson; Jan and Scott Oseid and Geraldine Templeton, the mother of his children; 9 grandchildren - Jacob Templeton, Brandi Templeton, Addison Zelker, Benjamin Romine, Logan Romine, Josh Barr, Haley Mann, Zoee Watson and Chad Robertson; and 7 great-grandchildren - Diego Robertson, Blake Robertson, Ivy Barr, Ian Zelker, Emery Zelker, Grayson Romine and Owen Romine. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Gregory. A funeral service was Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Virginia Point Cemetery in Savoy, Texas.
