The African American
Section of Van Alstyne Cemetery
is divided into a North & South
Section.
The gravel road is the
dividing point. These sections are labeled
"Un-Named North" and "Un-Named South".
Information below was
found after the original transcription.
Collin McKinney gave four
acres of land for a public
cemetery. An area for Blacks was
included.
In the original
transcription, any marked graves on the
south side of the gravel road were
included in the
McKinney 4
Section. Some of the burials
below
will be found in the Un-named North
Section
