 Van Alstyne, Texas -- A memorial service for Eleanor Rhodes Followwill, who passed away Tuesday April 14, 2015 at the age of 80, is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas with Pastor Scott Holcomb, officiating. Eleanor, was born at Hope Cottage in Dallas, Texas in 1935. She was adopted by Emma and Arthur Penney who brought her to Freeport, Texas where she was raised in a warm and caring home. She married Charles Douglas Rhodes, who has preceded her in death. Eleanor, was a successful real estate agent, and later operated a woman's apparel shop. She was cherished by three children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a loving husband, Major Followwill, and his endearing family.
