VAN ALSTYNE - Capt. Jack Joseph Ireland, 81, of Van Alstyne died
Thursday, Feb 28, 2002. Services will be held at 2 .m. Tuesday,
March 5, in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne.
Gary Spears will officiate with brial to follow in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Capt. Ireland was born on Dec. 19, 1920, in Van Alstyne, Texas, the son of John Franklin Ireland and Jimmie Amonett Ireland, and attended Van Alstyne High School. He retired from the U.S. marine Corps. He was a member of the First Christian Churh of Van Alstyne. Surviving are two daughters, Marie Perkins of Waskom, Texas and Camille Nuijten of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jack Wade Ireland of Van Alstyne, Texas; niece, Theda Carlene Hines of Sherman, Texas. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Ann Winfield. The family was at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
