Crawford 1920 - 1996 Imogene Crawford 1925 - 2009 The Herald Democrat November 6, 2009 VAN ALSTYNE - Imogene "Jean" Crawford passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 5, 2009 after a brief illness at Wilson N. Jones hospital. She was the seventh child born to John P. and Nettie (Phelps) Williams on March 25, 1925 in Van Alstyne. On Feb. 22, 1942 she married Douglas R. Crawford in Van Alstyne. They were married 54 years and three months before his death on May 31, 1996. She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne. In addition to being a deaconess, she was active in the choir, a member of CWF and served on various committees. She was an accomplished seamstress and a long time member of the "Angelica Threads" quilting group. Her employment began as a painter with Whopper Stopper lure manufacturing Company in Sherman. At the time of her retirement she was employed as an assembler with Electronics Systems. She is survived by daughters, Jean Ann and Jimmy Don McMillion of Howe, Pat and Ken McTee of Van Alstyne and Debbie Crawford of Van Alstyne; grandsons, Scott McTee and Kristen of McKinney, Jonathan McMillion and Cheryl of Arlington, Jason McTee and Sheilah of Princeton and Joey McMillion and Paula of Howe; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Estelle O'Briant of Van Alstyne and Dovie Harris of Allen; and brother, Oscar Williams of Van Alstyne, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Doug" and one grandson, Shawn McMillion. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Bro. Gary Gibbs officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott and Jason McTee, Jonathan and Joey McMillion and nephews, Roger Williams and Richard Harris. Her great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, Nov. 6, 2009 at the family residence, 545 SW Main in Van Alstyne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne or your favorite charity. The Rev. Fred Hall of the First Christian Church officiated. Burial was in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Imogene Crawford of Van Alstyne; daughters, Jean Ann McMillion of Howe and Patricia McTee and Debbie Crawford, both of Van Alstyne; sister, Brenda Jenkins of Van Alstyne; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
