Moore Copeland, 68 year old Athens resident, passed away peacefully
Friday, June 4, 2009 at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler after
a long illness. He was born November 17, 1940 in Van Alstyne,
Texas to Bill Copeland and Louise Bell Copeland. He moved to
Athens in 1974. He married Pat Bell September 2, 1961 in Grand
Prairie. He had two loves in his life, his wife Pat Copeland of 47
years, and his cat Sadi Bell of eight years. He worked for Lone
Star Gas for twelve years and then worked for Henderson County Sheriffs
Department for twelve years. He also worked for Redman Homes for
eight years. He is preceded in death by his father Bill in 1980 and his mother Louise in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Pat of Athens, Texas; two daughters, Ronni Harris and husband David of Athens, Texas; Kelli Parra and husband Jesse of Mesquite, Texas; four grandsons, Derek Perry and wife Mandy of Athens, Texas; Dusty Perry and wife Karen of Athens, Texas; Jesus Parra, Jr. of Mesquite, Texas; and Gabriel Parra of Mesquite, Texas; two granddaughters, Brittanie McBride of Mesquite, Texas; Bethani Harris of Athens, Texas; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; and two brother-in-laws, Rex Bell and wife Nelda of Arlington, Texas; and Alton Bell and wife Carolyn of Camden, Arkansas. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery in Van Alstyne, Texas under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. Aaron Austin will officiate. Pallbearers are Derek Perry, Dusty Perry, David Harris, Bryan Barnhart, Jesse Parra, and John Phillips. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.
