VAN ALSTYNE - Services are pending with Angelic Mortuary in Sherman for Willie Boddie of Van Alstyne, who died Friday, Feb. 23. 2007, at his residence. October 2, 2007 VAN ALSTYNE - Shirley Boddie of Van Alstyne passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Cemetery. Services are pending with Angelic Mortuary in Sherman. October 4, 2007 VAN ALSTYNE - Shirley Ann Boddie, 68-year-old Van Alstyne resident, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne. Officiating will be the Rev. James Petty, pastor of Samaria Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mrs. Boddie was born on March 14, 1939, in Van Alstyne, daughter of G. W. and Mary Alice Crockett and attended Fred Douglass High School. She married the late Willie Boddie, former mayor of Van Alstyne, on Aug. 8, 1960, in Sherman. She was a retired technician with Folger's Coffee and a member of Samaria Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Ricky Boddie (Pam), Mark Boddie (Maria) and Shane Boddie, all of Van Alstyne, and Jeffery Boddie (Heather) of Elkins, Ark; daughters Robin Boddie of Providence Village, Texas, and Michelle Boddie of Van Alstyne; Paul Hickson (Mae) of Van Alstyne; sister, Patricia Orr (Robinson) of Van Alstyne; aunt, Billie Clewis (Alvin) of Dallas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
