Ronnie
Mac Blair “Papaw”, age 78, was a lifelong resident of Van Alstyne, TX.
He passed away peacefully Tuesday August 23, 2022, at his home after a
valiant battle with cancer. He was born on November 27, 1943, to
parents John and Mary Anna Blair. He graduated from Van Alstyne High
school in 1962. Two months later he married his childhood friend and
high school sweetheart Judy Carol Edwards. They recently celebrated
their 60th wedding anniversary in July of this year. Together they had
two children Kristi Blair Ellis and Keith Blair. Ronnie Mac was a
lifelong employee of Texas Instruments. While building an illustrious
career, he also attained a bachelor’s degree in Business from East
Texas State University. He enjoyed many pastimes including the game of
golf. He enjoyed golf so much he became a member of Hurricane Creek
Country Club, where he passed his love of golf down to his
grandchildren. He served on the Van Alstyne school board, coached
little league baseball, pee wee football, and never missed any of his
grandchildren’s events. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply.
Ronnie was also a Past Master Mason of Mantua Lodge # 209 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He was heavily involved in many community, school, and church events. Ronnie and Judy were members of the Elmont Baptist Church. Ronnie was renowned for his kind heart and gentle soul. He leaves a shining legacy which will live on in his children and grandchildren. Ronnie was devoted to making the world a better place one golf swing at a time and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Judy Blair, his daughter Kristi Ellis and husband David of Tom Bean, his son Keith Blair of Van Alstyne, four grandchildren, Tyler Ellis of Fort Worth, Tanner Ellis and wife Randi of Tom Bean, Allie Ellis and fianc Jaxon Cantu of Tom Bean, and Amy Hayes and husband Casey of Hewitt, two great-grandchildren Ryan and Luke. He is also survived by his sister Judy McDonough and husband Dean of Howe along with numerous beloved family and friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Anna Blair. Brother Donald Blair and Grandmother Myrtle Stuteville. Pallbearers will be grandsons Tyler and Tanner Ellis. Jaxon Cantu, Alex Stephens, Keith Simco, and John Meza. Honorary pallbearers will be Masons of Mantua Lodge #209. The celebration of his life will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home on Saturday August 27th at 10 am with visitation at 9 prior to service.
