Billy
Doyle Murley, age 79, was born October 15, 1942 in Little Elm, Texas to
Dennis Ervin and Ora Agnes Craver Murley. He married Claudia Beatrice
Hutchins on September 24, 1960 in McKinney, Texas. They had just
celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
On the morning of January 28, 2022 Billy proceeded to his heavenly home, and was met at the gates by his best buddy & son Doyle. Billy was a family oriented man that always loved when his family would gather in. He started his own construction business in the mid 70s during those years his sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons would work for him and Oh the stories that they could tell. Billy never met a stranger. He was a very matter-of-fact kind of man. He didn’t mind sharing what he thought. His most famous quote was “if you would just listen to me, I’ll teach you something”. His answer instead of yes was “is a blue bird blue”. The family gathered every Saturday night for a game of Texas hold ‘em or dominoes. Billy and Doyle finally beat the undefeated domino team of Loretta and Alesia and we are so glad to say they got to go out winners. Billy is survived by his wife Claudia of Van Alstyne, daughter-in-law Beverly Murley of Van Alstyne, daughters, Alesia Thornhill and husband Bobby of Howe, Loretta Pitts and husband Jim of Van Alstyne, son Brent Murley and wife Penny of Van Alstyne, one brother Mike Murley of Whitewright. He is preceded in death by his son Doyle Murley, parents, brothers EP and Albert, sisters, Peggy, Arlene, Olean and Nona. He had 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and he loved them all deeply! A special Thank You to the team from Hospice Plus for their care, love and concern for Billy & the family during the most difficult time in their life. He will be forever missed. Our family will never be the same and a deep void will always be in our hearts with the loss of Billy (aka Dad and papaw) and Doyle (aka Dad, Son, Papaw and Uncle Doyle). A celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jr. Thornhill, officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior of service on Tuesday. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W. Van Alstyne, Pkwy. Van Alstyne, TX. 75495. Doyle
Wayne Murley, age 60, was born on November 9, 1961 in McKinney, TX to
Billy Doyle and Claudia Beatrice Murley. He married Beverly Pitts on
March 16, 1979 in McKinney, TX and were just shy of their 43rd
anniversary. In the early morning of January 7, 2022, Doyle proceeded
to his Heavenly home with The Lord after decades of battling heart
conditions and many other health issues.
