William Jack Greer of Pottsboro passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 after a brief illness.
Jack was born in Sulpher Springs, TX on October 2, 1940 as the eldest son of George T. Greer and Helen C. Greer, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jack married Helen Marie Terrell on March 13, 1959. He is survived by Helen, their two daughters Lori
and husband Gary Harris of Caney, KS, and Karen and her husband Jim of Pottsboro, TX. He is also survived by five grandchildren, including granddaughter Teffany and husband Everette of Pottsboro, TX, and grandson Sean and wife Lacy Lewis of Dallas, TX, and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister Sue of Sherman, TX and brother Bob of Belvedere, Illinois.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to hunt deer and quail and proudly raised and trained some outstanding bird dogs. Until his retirement Jack was employed by Tom Thumb Grocery where he was a meat market manager.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 19, at Van Alstyne cemetery with Scoggins Funeral Home handling the arrangements
