  Van Alstyne- Funeral service for Billie Catherine Carpender will be held at 2:00 PM Monday March 7 in
the Chapel of Memories at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. David Murphy will officiate. Mrs. Carpender passed away Thursday March 3 in Van Alstyne. Billie was born July 22, 1930, in Sherman to the late William and Velma (Killian) Thompson. She retired from Sherman ISD where she worked at Dillingham Middle School. She enjoyed crafts and owned Crafts and Stuff in Sherman for many years. Mrs. Carpender will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two husbands, William Lloyd Hall, and Jack Carpender. She is survived by four daughters, Cathy Rice of Whitesboro, Pat Wright of East Tawakoni, Beverly Buckner and husband Danny of Van Alstyne, and Wanda Hart and husband Joe of Trenton; one son, Jimmy Hall and wife Nancy of Sherman; one sister, Rosa Welch of Sherman; ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday at Waldo Funeral Home.
