Larry
Mac Malone, of McKinney, TX passed away on Sunday, November 14th
surrounded by his immediate family whom he loved very much.
Larry was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Dorotha and Walter Malone on March 5th, 1953. He spent the majority of his childhood years in Lubbock, TX. As a young adult he completed a certification in Sprinkler Fitting from Penn State through correspondence classes in Irving, TX. This was the beginning of a long, successful career in the field of Fire Protection Services. He retired from Simplex-Grinnell after 40+ years of dedicated service in the industry. He was married to Gwen Sparlin Malone for 36 years and they had three children together. Larry loved people and never shied away from helping others. He loved being in the country, his family, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wilson Malone and Dorotha Dalphene Wheeler Malone, his uncle Gary Wheeler, and his uncle Bill Wheeler. Larry is survived by his children Chad Malone of Troup, TX, Cody Malone and wife Jordan of Benton, AR, and Holly Trayler and husband Travis of Melissa, TX; his brothers and sisters Leda Jones and husband Ronnie of League City, TX, Tony Malone and wife Pam of Greenville, TX, and Pat Malone and wife Cathy of Anna, TX; and his grandchildren Ally Malone of Pueblo, CO, Jack, Jace, and Hazel Malone of Benton, AR, and Madison and Cason Trayler of Melissa, TX as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. A Graveside Service will be held 3pm Friday, November 19th at Van Alstyne Cemetery, officiated by Peter Cunningham. Arrangements are by Scoggins Funeral Home of Van Alstyne, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family would love for you to celebrate his life by sponsoring an Angel Tree child for Christmas at your local venue of choice. His giving spirit was apparent in the showering of gifts to his grandkids. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to doctors, nurses, and staff of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of McKinney for their compassion and care of Larry in his final days and weeks.
