Ricardo Escamilla, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, July 18, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1931 in LaPorte, Texas, son of Ricardo Escamilla Sr. and Tinidad Baissa. He married Maria Alvarado February 16, 1949 in San Juan, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maria; 16 children, Maria Reyes, Margarita Torres, Ralph Escamilla, Joe Escamilla, Roy Escamilla, Tony Escamilla, Ricardo Escamilla III, Sally Torres, Hector Escamilla, Rebecca Escamilla, Rachel Rivera, Tommy Escamilla, Gilbert Escamilla, Rosie Escamilla, Nelda Escamilla, Johnny Escamilla; 52 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ramiro Escamilla, Manuel Escamilla, Poncho Escamilla; sisters, Victoria Hernandes, Carman Adames, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very large host of friends.
Rosary Service was held Monday night, July 21, 2014. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2014 at the Holy family Catholic Church with Father Salvador Guzman officiating. Burial followed immediately at Van Alstyne Cemetery.

Maria A. Escamilla, age 87, entered into eternal life Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Medical City of McKinney. Maria was born July 14, 1932 in San Juan, TX, to Dionicio and Guadalupe Perez Alvarado. She married the love of her life Ricardo Escamilla, Jr. February 16, 1949 in San Juan TX, they were married for 65 years until his passing in July 18, 2014.
Maria had simple hobbies, she loved going to the casino, cooking for family and friends, taking walks and she also loved her (Bud Light), but most of all she, loved her family. Maria will be missed by so many people but never forgotten.
Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory 15, Children Maria Elena Reyes, Margarita Torres, Ralph Escamilla, Joe Escamilla, Tony Escamilla, Roy Escamilla, Hector Escamilla, Sally Torres, Rachel Rivera, Rebecca Escamilla, Tommy Escamilla, Gilbert Escamilla, Rosie Mercer, Nelda Escamilla and Johnny Escamilla. 54, Grandchildren, 102, Great Grandchildren and 11, Great-Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and 3, Children Lupe Escamilla, Vickie Escamilla and Ricardo Escamilla, III.
Services for Maria will be held at 9:00AM Monday, July 13, 2020 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Fletcher, officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Escamilla, James Mercer, Tony Escamilla, Jr., Ralph Escamilla, Jr., Manuel Amaya, Jr., Hector Escamilla, Jr., Mateo Villareal and Marcus Jon Escamilla.
A come and go visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the funeral home. The family has requested for the funeral services to be recorded and will be posted the following day on Maria’s, obituary wall for family and friends to view.
