James
“Ryan” Grisham, age 26, of Van Alstyne, Texas passed away Monday, March
30, 2020 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Ryan was born
November 8, 1993 in Sherman, Texas to Mark and Jill Grisham.
Ryan attended Van Alstyne Schools graduating in 2012. Although intellectually gifted, he found "bookwork" far too slow in results. Watching TV shows or movies were boring. All his life he was happiest when a "pile of parts" was in front of him to be assembled. Usually he had things working again even if there was a leftover part or two. Ryan was talented both electronically and mechanically, but preferred the latter leading to his work as a mechanic. Riding ridges, ravines, and river bottoms on a dirt-bike, four-wheeler or truck was pure joy to Ryan. And he always "hopefully" tore up something to fix again. He loved the beauty of and boating on Lake Texoma. Ryan dearly loved his parents, brothers, and extended family. Ryan, is survived by his Father- Mark Grisham of Van Alstyne, Mother- Jill (Stephens) Grisham of Van Alstyne, Brother- Payton Grisham of Van Alstyne, Brother- Hunter Grisham of Van Alstyne, Grandmother- Martha Stephens of Sherman, Grandparents- James and Barbra Grisham of Denison, Uncle- Jason and Christina Stephens of Whitewright, Uncle- Matthew and Heather Grisham of Sherman, Uncle- Nathan Gray of Howe and Aunt- Lisa and Michael Parker of Abilene. A public come and go visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 8:00PM Friday, April 3, 2020 at Scoggins Funeral Home. Services will be a private graveside on Saturday, with Reverend Jerry Jones, officiating. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W. Van Alstyne, Pkwy.
