Herald Democrat January 13, 2003 Page A6 Ruby Lee Ballard VAN ALSTYNE - Funeral services for Ruby Lee Ballard, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Harker officiating. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mrs. Ballard died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Surviving are her husband, James Garland Ballard of Van Alstyne; sons, J .D. Ballard of Van Alstyne and Gary Ballard of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and at other times at the J. D. Ballard residence, 1199 Ballard Rd., Van Alstyne. Pallbearers will be Ray Botsford, Dude Crook, Robert Hynds, Jessie Savage, Benny Edwards, and Alan Robertson; honorary pallbearers will be A. V. Whitehead, Zack Herring, Neil Samuels, and John Hynds. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel, Van Alstyne with Gary Spears and Dr. Ed Kolbe officiating. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mr. Ballard was born July 8, 1915 in Sedalia, TX the son of Herbert and Dade Ballard. He married Ruby Spain on July 14, 1935 in Van Alstyne (she preceded him in death). He was a farmer. Surviving are his sons, J. D Ballard and wife, Ona, Gary Ballard and wife, Marguerite, all of Van Alstyne; three grandchildren, Sharon Ballard, Don Ballard, Mark Richardson; sister, Jettie House of Denton. Pallbearers will be Robert Savage, Zack Herrin, Neal Samuels, Ray Botsford, Pat Patterson, Benny Edwards. honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hynds and A. V. Whitehead. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church, Van Alstyne.
