Anna, Texas -- Judith Ann Lindsey Harlow went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2018.  She was a resident of Anna, Texas.  She was born April 3, 1935 in Mantua, Texas.  She was the only child of Ruby Jewell Cotten Lindsey and Russell Eugene Lindsey, also of Anna, Texas.  Judy was a lifelong Anna resident.  She began school in Anna at the age of 6 in 1941 and graduated from Anna High School in 1953. In 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Leonard Harlow.  Together they made their home in Anna, raising three children, Russell Lindsey Harlow, Leonard Dale Harlow, and Suzanne Harlow.
Judy was the first secretary of Anna ISD and worked for the school district for 27 years.  Over the years she served as secretary for five superintendents and seven principals.  She also served as the library aide, elementary reading aide, attendance clerk, and assumed other school duties.  She was known for having a great love for students and colleagues.  In 2017 she was honored by the school district and community of Anna with the naming of a new school, Judith Lindsey Harlow Elementary School. This meant so much to Judy.  She was a dedicated Anna Coyote her entire life.
Judy was highly involved in the community of Anna.  She was an avid sports fan of all Anna Coyotes teams.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anna her entire life, serving in many ways over the years.  She enjoyed helping with and leading Vacation Bible School each summer, teaching Cradle Roll, preschool, junior boys, high school, adults, Sunbeams, Acteens, Girls in Action, and Training Union.  She enjoyed church banquets, picnics, and special occasions.  She enjoyed sponsoring mission trips, singing in the church choir, serving as a church clerk, and served in other capacities and on many church committees.  She raised her family in the church and enjoyed sharing in church activities with all friends and family.
Judy was recognized by Collin County’s Historical Commission in 2011 for Exemplary Education about Collin County’s rich history.  She was one of few residents of the county that knew the history of Mantua community, which was on the family farm near Anna.  She was also recognized in the 2015 Anna High School yearbook, The Coyote, as a notable Anna resident.  She received the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Greater Anna Chamber for her dedication to the community she loved so much. 
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Leonard Harlow, from Anna Texas.  She is also survived by her children, sons Russell Harlow and wife Trina from Prosper, Texas, Dale Harlow and wife Shana of Waxahachie, Texas, and daughter Suzanne Harlow of Anna, Texas, and four grandchildren including Russell “Hunter” Harlow and wife Rachel of Waco, Texas, Andrew Lindsey Harlow and wife Megann of Allen, Texas, granddaughters Chloe Nicole Harlow of Lubbock, Texas and Katharine Elizabeth Harlow of Waxahachie, Texas.  She enjoyed her three great grandchildren, Renndon James Harlow of Allen, Texas, Russell Hayes Harlow and Piper Rose Harlow of Waco, Texas.  Anyone who knew Judy Harlow knew how much she valued and loved her family. 
Services for Judith will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Rev. Warren Samuels officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home.
