Lynda lived in Van Alstyne, Texas her entire life. Upon graduation from Van Alstyne High School, she went
to work as a key-punch operator at Collins Radio in Richardson, Texas. Lynda retired from Rockwell Collins after 45 years of service with the company. She was a longtime member of Elmont Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School classes. Lynda enjoyed travelling with her friends and family, and was known for always helping others. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Ronald Eugene Gentry. Lynda is survived by her nephew, Reggie Gentry and his wife Julie of Allen, Texas and her niece, Ramona Rucker and husband Thomas of Grand Saline, Texas; great-nieces and nephews, Holly Parsons and husband Jay, Stasia Armstreet and husband Jeremy, Matthew Gentry, Amanda Rucker, Shane Gentry, and JT Rucker; great-great nieces and nephews, Landry Armstreet, John Parsons, James Parsons, Daxton Armstreet, Grace Parsons and Luke Parsons, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and friends. A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at Elmont Baptist Church 13999 FM 121 in Van Alstyne, Texas on Saturday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Mienen, Jason Sprowl, Mike Tillett, Lee Yates, Eric Howey, and Chris Mullins.
