Van Alstyne, Texas -- Hollis Roy Lester, 79, of Van Alstyne, left us Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. Hollis was born in Hugo, Oklahoma to John and Irene Walker Lester. Hollis attended Hugo schools and started his path creating a life-long career in electronics owning several TV and Appliance Sales and Service Centers over the next
50 years.
Upon retirement, Hollis became passionate about Golf and many other pursuits. Hollis treasured spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mack Rogers of Lone Star Cowboy Church. Memorials led by life-long friend Tony Wilson.
Hollis Lester was preceded in death by his older brother Jerry William (Dub) Lester and is survived by his wife Barbara Hulen Lester; daughter Terry and husband Jon Short and Grandson Joshua Short of Killeen, Texas; Sister Shirley and husband Tony Wilson of Van Alstyne; Brother Mickie Lester and wife LaRetha of Bonham; Brother Johnny Lester of Van Alstyne and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 West Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas.
