Mrs. Walter Ayres is Buried Here Tuesday

Mrs. Walter Ayres died at the home of her mother, Mrs. A.L. Bryant, one mile east of town, Monday.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Frank Johnson, officiating.  Internment was held in the Van Alstyne cemetery, directly by Fox-Fanning.
Mrs. Ayres was born here.  On Sept. 26, 1917, she was married to Walter Ayres.  She lived all her life in this community.  She was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Virginia Ayres; her mother, Mrs. A.L. Bryant; six sisters, Mrs. O.W. Smith of Sulphur, La., Mrs. O.R. Boykin, Mrs. Beecher Miller and Mrs. Jack McCollum of Denison, Miss Ruth Bryant of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Veva Edwards of Van Alstyne, and two brothers, A.L. Bryant, Jr., of Van Alstyne and Joe Bryant of South America.
Pallbearers were Grady Jones, John Charles Douglas, O.S. Yoder, Travis Enochs, C.M. Hunter and Gus Lewallen.
Relatives attending the funeral from out-of-town were:Mr. and Mrs. Offie Smith, Sulphur, La.; Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Martin, Sulphur, La., Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Miller, Denison; Mr. and Mrs. O.R. Boykin and son Bryant, Denison; Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCollum and daughter, Betty Sue, Denison; A.L. Bryant, Jr., Mississippi; Miss Ruth Bryant, Wichita Falls; Mrs. Joe Bryant and son, Darby Lee, Celina; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Jackson and son, Joe Paris; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ayres and children, Sherman; Miss Evalyn Marshall, McKinney. Dr. George Wolfe, a friend of the family, of Wichita Falls, also attended the funeral. Joe Bryant is in South America was unable to get here for the funeral.
