These are very unusual set of photographs considering the time for moment Mori photography was long past in the Victorian Era., these have been in my family a long time.  I was gifted a few boxes of Atkins family memorabilia by my grandfather.  These come from the May 1939 funeral of Elisha Joe Atkins . No one knows who took them back in 1939. The first and second shows rather unusually the casket open and closed. The last shows the whole Atkins family minus sons James  Bedford and Samuel Taylor whom passed in 1926 and 1927 and were also buried in Van Alstyne Cemetery side by side.
