Jerry Gwin Eddington, age 78, of Denton, TX; went to his home in heaven on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
He was born November 3, 1937 in Cumberland, Ok to Gladys Bain Eddington and James Shelby Eddington. Jerry worked in the grocery business as a market manager most of his life. He worked for Kroger, A&P, and finished the better part of his working life with Piggly Wiggly, in the Denton and Cleburne, TX; area. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad as well as five brothers A.B. Eddington, Garland Eddington, Hulon Eddington, J.W. Eddington, and Ronald Gene Eddington, as well
as by one sister Duron Maynard.
Jerry was a loving husband to his wife Doshie. Father to five sons Jeff Eddington of Aubrey, TX Donny Eddington of Longview TX, Chris Eddington of Newark, TX, Joey Eddington of Denton, TX, and Roger Eddington of Denton, TX. two Daughter in laws, Angela wife of Joey and Michelle wife of Chris. Nine grandkids, and eight great grandkids.
Jerry loved the lord and was an avid gospel singer and sang with a family gospel group for many years. He is a member of Gateway United Baptist church in Denton, TX. He loved to fish, camping, flea marketing, gardening, riding his bike and doing anything outdoors.
He will truly be missed by his family but they are comforted in knowing that He is a saved and baptized believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and know that this is just goodbye for a short time. We love you Daddy.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home 637 W. Van Alstyne, Pkwy. Van Alstyne, TX; 75495
