Robert H. Hynds 20 July 1925 - 5 October 2022 Uldine H. Hynds 1 September 1926 - 12 February 2015 Van
Alstyne, Texas -- Uldine H. Hynds of Van Alstyne, known lovingly to all
her family as “Dean”, passed away on February 12, 2015 at home. She was
the daughter of Loy and Maldon Haynes and was a graduate of Van Alstyne
High School. She was married to Robert H. Hynds. Her career was working
side by side with Robert at The First National Bank of Van Alstyne (now
Texas Star Bank)
She is survived by her husband, one son Michael Hynds and wife, Linda of Van Alstyne, daughter, Tohnie Hynds and husband James Berry of Sherman, granddaughter, Melanie Jones and husband, Randle of Celina, great- granddaughters, Heather Turner and husband, Billy of Van Alstyne, Hillary Jones of Sherman, Alex Jones of Celina, great-great granddaughter, Skylar Turner, nieces, Statia Fourrier, Sarah Janis Thorn, Cathy Stroud, Kay Stuart, Barby Johnson, Jennifer Gorman, Marnie Norris and nephew, Bill Benton and many great nieces and great nephews. She treasured her family and they all loved their “Dean.” She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Beth Selby and husband, Mac Selby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Scoggins Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne with Rev. Gary Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family gives special thanks to Holly Hardwick for being not only a wonderful caregiver but also her loving friend. Henry Hynds served in the US Army during World War II. He enlisted in
the U.S. Army in July, 1943. He was assigned to the 43rd Division, F
Company, 172nd Regiment. He served in the Pacific Theater and was
part of the famous assault on the island of Luzon. Robert was wounded
on two separate occasions and received two Purple Hearts and the Bronze
Star. After the surrender of Japan, Robert became part of the occupying
force until his discharge in 1946.
