Duane Crook (Dude), 86, passed away in Van Alstyne, TX. He was born
November 25, 1934 in Van Alstyne. He graduated from Van Alstyne High
School. Dude farmed with his dad until his dad retired. He went to work
at GCEC, and retired after 44 years. He then went to work for C L
Simco, a job he loved. He worked several years at the Bank of Van
Alstyne, TX. He belonged to the First Christian Church in Van Alstyne.
He married Alta Ann Rollins of Anna, TX. They were married 64 years on June 23, 1956. He is survived by his wife Ann, his daughter Leslie Diane Zielenski, (Pete) of Van Alstyne, Sons Daniel Duane, (Elaine) of Denison, TX and Douglas William Crook of Van Alstyne, TX. Four grand-children, Daniel Joseph Marr, Van Alstyne, Leslie Ann Ferguson (Quinton), Misty Murphree (David) of Mead, OK, Mandy Krebs of Denison, TX. Five great grand-children Baylie Ann Marr, Rylie Page Marr, Harlie Daniel Marr, Brooke Rorex, of Silo, OK. Great great-grandchildren, Mason Lance and Rexley Rorex. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother and dad Les and Pauline Crook, two Sisters Jean Carney, June Waters, and niece Kay Mercer and David. A celebration of Dude’s life will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 2:00PM with Pastor Dr. Doug Deuel, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior of services. Burial will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
