Services for Nancy Ruth Smith, 70, of Van Alstyne were held Tuesday in Flesheer Funeral Home with burial in Van Alstyne Cemetery.  She died Sunday in Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman.
Mrs. Smith was born in Van Alstyne, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Hix of Van Alstyne and married James Samuel Smith on Dec. 4, 1934, in Van Alstyne.  She was a member of the First Christian Church
in Van Alstyne.
Surviving are sisters, Margie Marshall of Denison and Jessie Harper of Broken Arrow, Okla.; sons, Hansel Smith of Gainesville, Harold Smith of Mabank, Dean Smith of Red Oak and Tommy Smith of Van Alstyne; sister, Viola Mannery of Denison; brother, John Willie Hix of Denison; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
