Grand Prairie, Texas -- Services for Bobby "Poppy" Wimbish, 60, of Grand Prairie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Rev Randy Hartley will officiate and burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. He passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.
He was born August 5, 1956 to Rufus and Rita Kelly Wimbish. Bobby was a carpenter by trade and was
all about family, fishing, music (guitar and harmonica) and wrestling.
Bobby "Poppy" Wimbish is survived by his mother: Rita Wimbish. Wife: Kay Wimbish. Siblings: Brenda Fletcher, Richard Wimbish and Kathy Jo Compton. Children: Bobby Wimbish ll, Chris Wimbish, Emily Floyd and Jon Wimbish. Step-children: Misty Rivera and Luke Doshier. Grandchildren: Ryan Malone, Malachi Wimbish, Halie Malone, Gatlin Wimbish, Alyssa Wimbish, Julia Wimbish, Hannah Doshier, Kaedyn Floyd, Jackson Doshier, Issac Wimbish, Colin Floyd, Chance Floyd, Maelie Wimbish, Bryson Wimbish, Alicia Rivera and Martin Rivera. He is also survived by his beloved aunts, nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Huerta, Beto Castillo, Ben Machado, Jimmy Barrett, Curtis Barrett, Billy Barrett, Michael Wimbish and Jesse Rivera.
