November 12, 1972 Mrs. S. O. Tate VAN ALSTYNE - Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Van Alstyne Baptist Church for Mrs. Eppie Josephine Tate, 87, who died Saturday in a Dallas nursing home. Mrs. Tate, who had lived in Sherman and Van Alstyne, was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas and a former member of the Fairview Baptist Church of Sherman. Services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Griffith of Weatherford with burial to be in the Van Alstyne Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. Mrs. Tate was born March 4, 1885 in Mississippi and in 1906 was married to Samuel O. Tate. Mr. Tate preceded her in death in 1954. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs.T.P.Chapman of Roma, Tex.; two sons, Sam T. Tate of Ventura, Calif., and Garvin L. Tate of Rockwall; one brother, G.B.Bray of Celina; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
