Services for Thelma Jo Tallent, 64, of Anna were held Sunday in Van Alstyne Church of God with burial
in Van Alstyne Cemetery.

She was killed early Friday morning at Texas 5 and FM 455, after her car was involved in a two-car accident in heavy fog.
Mrs. Tallent was born in Texas, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Harrison, and married Walter Tallent
Oct. 12, 1934, in Van Alstyne.  She was a member of the Church of God.

Surviving are her daughter, Pat Roper; sons, James Walter Tallent and Kenneth Ray Tallent; sisters,
Eva Atkins of Van Alstyne; Louise Lynch of Fort Worth; brothers, R.A. Walsh of Plano, Hubert Walsh of Mercedes, Calif., and Lee Walsh of Van Alstyne; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Flesher Funeral Home was in charge.

ANNA MAN DIES IN COLLISION NEAR MCKINNEY
Walter Joseph Tallent, 55, residing on Route 1, Anna, was dead on arrival at Collin Memorial Hospital
here Wednesday night following a head-on car-truck collision nine miles West on Highway 24.  Harris-Horn Emergency ambulance brought Tallent to the hospital.  The driver of a third vehicle was Charles Szad, 54, of Wallinford, Conn., who suffered minor injuries when the trailer towed by the Tallent car broke loose and hit Szad's car head-on.  Szad was given first aid treatment at the hospital and released.   The truck driver involved in the wreck was uninjured.  Highway Patrolman Sam Turtle investigated the accident which occurred at 6:15 pm, Wednesday.  Funeral arrangements for Tallent
are pending with Don Flesher Funeral Home of Van Alstyne.


Walter Joseph Tallent married Thelma Joe Walsh 12 Oct 1934 in Van Alstyne, Grayson County, TX (Source: Marriage License for Joseph Tallent and Thelma Walsh, Married by E Lee Stanford, Pastor of Van Alstyne M E Church.), daughter of Elbert Walsh and Ida Martin.  She was born 04 March 1919 in Ector, Randolph, Fannin County, TX (Source: Original Birth Certificate for Thelma Jo Walsh.), and died 10 Feb 1984 in Anna, Collin County, TX
