Wednesday, February 1, 1978 VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Mrs. Iler Stephens, 89, Van Alstyne housewife who died Monday at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Eastside Church of Christ, conducted by Melvin Chappel. Burial will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery, with arrangements by Boyd-Smith House of Mortuarium of Sherman. Born in Texas, Mrs. Stephens was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Deveraux. She was married to the late Edgar Stephens and was a member of the East Side Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Linson of Van Alstyne; sisters, Mrs. Josephine Wilson and Mrs. Berta Broomfield, both of Sherman, Mrs. Mae Ella Fitzgerald of Madill, Okla., Mrs. Lula Erwin of Seattle, Wash. and Mrs. Mollie Mathews of Pomona, Calif. Pallbearers are church officials. The family will be at the Linson residence.
