Janie Valentine
Dayton - Services for Janie Overby Valentine, 84, of Dayton, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist church in Dayton.  She died Wednesday at the Diagnostic Hospital in Houston.  The Rev. Randy Platt will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Van Alstyne Cemetery.
Mrs.Valentine was born in Anna and had lived in Dayton for 27 years.
Formerly of Houston, she retired from the S.H. Kress Store on Main Street and was a member of the First Baptist church in Dayton.
Surviving are her husband, Chaille Valentine of Dayton; daughter Gloria McGinity of Crosby; stepdaughters, Mattiesue Valentine and Vyneeca Pietsch, both of Houston; brother, Cleva Willard of Henderson; sister, Oneta Young of Bakersfield, Calif.; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will begin a 9 a.m. Friday at sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.  The family will be at the funeral home from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday.
