Edgar A. Goss, Retired Postal Worker, Dies
Edgar Arthur Goss, 67, a retired postal worker, died Tuesday at his home, 723 South Winnetka, in Oak  Cliff.  He had been ill for six months.
Goss was born in Seymour, Mo.  He moved to Van Alstyne, Grayson County, in 1903.  He was graduated from North Texas State Teachers College in 1912 and then taught for two years in Grayson County.  He left the teaching profession in 1914 to accept a job as a postal clerk in the Dallas post office.
In 1924 after serving in World War I, he moved to Chicago, Ill., and a position with the postal service. He stayed in Chicago until his retirement in July, 1948.
Goss was a member of the Sunrise Masonic Lodge of Chicago, a Chicago American Legion post and the Oak Cliff Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sparkman-Brand Chapel, 2115 Ross Avenue.  Masonic graveside services will be held at the Van Alstyne, Grayson County, Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are four brothers, Deputy United States Marshal Evart R. Goss; R.B. Goss and Ralph E. Goss, all of Dallas; and John H. Goss of Denver, Colo.; and four sisters, Mrs. S.A. McDonald, Mrs. T.d. Thomas Sr., Mrs. D.H. Cowdin and Miss Zella Goss, all of Dallas.
