Betty Jean Kemp, age 77 of Van Alstyne, TX passed away June 6, 2010 at her home.  She was born on September 7, 1932 in Wolfe City, TX to Harm Dunk and Bertha Lee (Hanner) Craig.  Betty married Billy Ray Kemp on October 5, 1948 in Durant, OK.  She worked as a painter and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Betty is survived by her sons, James Ray Kemp and wife, Lilly of Howe, TX and Billy Earl Kemp and wife, Mary of Van Alstyne, TX; daughters, Joyce Reed and husband, Ronnie of Westminster, Terry Whitlock and husband, Jess of Evant, TX and Debbie Skinner of McKinney, TX; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny F. Craig of Deridder, LA and Wayne Raney and wife, Helen of Sherman, TX; niece and nephew, Donna and Billy Cook of Van Alstyne.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Van Alstyne Cemetery with Jess Whitlock officiating.
