Richardson,
Texas -- Ruth Marie Deragon, 65, passed away peacefully from this life
on September 5, 2015. Ruth was a longtime resident of Richardson, Texas
where she graduated from Richardson High School in 1968. She was a
member of the United States Army stationed at Fort Dix in Trenton, New
Jersey. In 1970, Ruth married and returned back to Texas in 1975
where she resided until death.
Ruth continued to improve her education attending Grayson County College where she obtained her nursing degree. She was well regarded for her knowledge and dedication to her career as a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Ruth worked tirelessly to provide for her family and to ensure her patients were well taken care of. She became a single mother and successfully raised three children. Ruth left this world too early and will be truly missed. Ruth Deragon was preceded in death by her father, John Carl Gaskill and her mother, Ruth Leota Gaskill. She is survived by her brother, Johnny Gaskill and her three children, William Deragon, Jill Ricano and Philip Deragon. Daughters –in-law, Jessica Deragon and Becky Deragon. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren Cody Deragon, Cameron Deragon, Carter Deragon and Savannah Deragon, Faith Joslin, Joseph Joslin, Victor Ricano Jr., Madison Kinser, Philip Deragon Jr., Michael Deragon and countless friends. Ruth’s life was a never-ending service to others. Funeral services for Ruth will be held Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. September 12, 2015 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mark Fletcher, officiating burial will follow at the Van Alstyne cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, 637 W. Van Alstyne, Pkwy.
