Alstyne - Carter O. Yoder, 83-year-old retired Van Alstyne auto
mechanic died Tuesday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in
Sherman. Services will be held at
2 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne.
The Revs. Mark Moore, Dennis Wilkerson and John Irish will officiate.
Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Arrangements are by Flesher Funeral Home.
Mr. Yoder was born in Van Alstyne, the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Yoder. He received his bachelor of science degree from North Texas State University {now the University of North Texas}. On Aug. 19, 1933, he married Virginia Morrison in Dallas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne and served as administrative board chairman of the church. He had also served as choir director for 25 years. An active member of the Van Alstyne Masonic Lodge, he was district deputy grand master of the Blue Lodge Chapter and Council, member of the Knights Templar, Knights of York Cross of Honor, and district deputy grand priest of the Royal Arch Chapter. Surviving is his wife.
