Bert DeWayne Wilson was born July 20,1940 in Van Alstyne, Texas.  The third child of Clyde W. Wilson and Ethel Wilkins-Wilson, all of whom preceded him in death.
He attended Van Alstyne Elementary School, graduated from Fred Douglass High School in Sherman, Texas and Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, Texas.
He united in marriage to Lucille Chance on April 11, 1963 and to this unions one was born, Rodney DeWayne Wilson.
He accepted Christ and united with the church at an early age.  He continued his service to the church after moving to Dallas where he was employed as a skycap for numerous years.  Choosing the United Methodist as his church affiliation and Dr. Marshall E. Hodge, as his Pastor, he continued his walk in faith.
Bert leaves to cherish his memory: wife - Lucille; son - Rodney of Dallas, Texas; his mother - Mrs. France Wilson of Sherman, Texas; one uncle and aunt - S.P. and Arvitla Stinnett of Van Alstyne, Texas; mother-in-law - Etta Mae Fowler of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law - Kathy Jackson of Dallas, Texas; brother and sister-in-law - Gene and Lula Kenney of Corsicana, Texas; nieces - D'eidra Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Sonja Wilson of Sherman, Texas; nephews - Cliford Wilson, Mark Wilson, Jeffery Wilson and Earlon Wilson of Sherman, Texas.  He also leaves a special extended family of: Jeanette Murphy, Gary Murphy, Ronnie Murphy, David Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Sharon Murphy, Donna Murphy, Monica Murphy, Tremina Taylor, Conchita Murphy, and Gwen Murphy of Van Alstyne, Texas; Robert Rhyne, Toi Rhyne, Nikki Rhyne, Bobby Rhyne, Robin Rhyne, Sean Murphy and Jaquetta Murphy of Dallas, Texas; and Joyce Murphy of Houston, Texas; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
