VAN ALSTYNE - - William Riley Crook
died Monday night at his home morth of Van Alstyne after an extended
illness.
Funeral services
will be held today, 5 pm at the Van Alstyne Methodist Church,
conducted by the Rev. J. H. Vail of Whitesboro, assisted by the pastor,
Rev.
Simpson.
Burial will be in the Van Alstyne cemetery,
directed by Fox-Fanning Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Oran Sterling, Clyde
Massie, Sam Gray, Bill ONeal, Jim Kemp, and Doyle Martin.
Mr. Crook was born in Liberty, Tenn. April 8,
1869. He was married Sept 2, 1894 to Miss Sarah
Emaline Cipher.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs.
Burrell Howell, Mrs. Clyde Cripps, Wesley Crook and Leslie Crook of Van
Alstyne. Mrs. W. A. Goode, Gunter, Mrs. J. L. Olds, Weatherford, W. T.
Crook,
Beamount, Talmadge Crook, Houston and Mrs. Guss Sims, Daisetta; 28
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by five sister, Mrs. Sarah
Vandergriff and Mrs. Neal Parker of Van Alstyne; Mrs. Polly Hawker,
Liberty,
Tenn. Mrs. Lester Farmer, Rdland, Calif., and Mrs. Francis Bowman,
Mansfield
and one brother, Bob Crook, Kington, Okla.

VAN ALSTYNE -
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30
p.m. in First Methodist Curch in Van Alstyne for Mrs. Sarah Emaline
Crook, 82,
who died at her home here Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. She was a native of
Kentucky.
Rev.
Harrison Baker of Dallas will officiate,
assisted by Rev. Jesse Pugh, Christian Curch minister, and Emory Bryan,
Methodist minister, all of Van Alstyne.
Burial
will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery,
directed by Fox-Flesher Funeral Home.
Mrs.
Crook was the daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Ransom R. Cipher. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors
include five daughters,
Mrs. Burl Howell of Van Alstyne, Mrs. W. A. Goode of Dallas, Mrs. Clyde
Cripps
of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Guss Sims of Daisetta; four sons, Wesley and
Lesley
Crook, both of Van Alstyne, W. T. Crook of Beamount and Talmadge Crook
of
Houston; four sister, Mrs. John Moss of Chacota, Okla. Mrs. Bill Bonham
of
Bonham, Mrs. Bob Crook of Oklahoma and Mrs. Bob Haynes
of Dallas; two
half-sisters, Mrs. Jim Murphy of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Clayton Kimbrough
of San
Angelo; 28 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren.
