On June 17, 2022 Patricia Adlee Posey Weatherford went to meet her Maker. She was 82 years old. Pat was born on March 4, 1940 to Estel Posey and Willa May Posey Dahne. At that time, her family resided in Morrilton, Arkansas. When Pat was 9 years old, her family relocated to Texas w here Pat spent most of her childhood days. She attended school both at Lone Oak and Mesquite High. As a youth, Pat's family attended church at the Pentecostal church located in Mesquite. At the tender age of 15 in1955, Pat married the love of her life, Jack Lindon Weatherford. Jack and Pat built a life together in Anna, Texas. They had 5 children together: Rebecca, Lillis, James, Lillian and Brenda Kay. During this time, Pat spent many years working in the medical field as a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) in the Celina, Gunter and Van Alstyne nursing homes before transitioning to home health. In 1986 Pat began work at Walmart, located in McKinney, Texas. She continued her employment there for over 30 years before retiring in 2018. Throughout her life, Pat was known as a loving woman. It was not uncommon for Jack, the kids and Pat to drive to Arkansas to spent the weekend with family. Pat loved to cook; she was well known for her chicken and dumplings and banana pudding. "You have not had banana pudding until you have had Grandma's banana pudding." She also loved to play games - she was a card shark who was masterful at shuffling. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and Texas 42. Regardless of who she was playing, she was always the one that people wanted to partner with. The card game, "spit on your neighbor," was one that her and Jack made up; it continued t o be a favorite for family and friends. In 2011 Pat enjoyed her lone overseas flight, where she visited family located in Europe. During that visit, Pat visited Germany's Black Forest; she was overjoyed to purchase a German wooden clock and walk through flower fields that were as tall as she was. Pat was a fighter. She battled and overcame cancer for many years. She was love. She was known as Grandma for all who knew her. Some of the most enjoyable and peaceful moments were early morning sit downs with Grandma where we just talked about life and drank coffee. Grandma was a prayer warrior. For hours at a time, Grandma and her niece, Nadine, would talk on the phone, all the while lifting up prayer requests to the Lord; friends and family members felt uplifted just by overhearing these prayers. Preceding Pat in death were her parents; her loving husband; her siblings, Georgie Flethcer, William Shaddon and Anne Sears; her daughter, Rebecca; grandsons, Colton Taylor and Jacob Ned, as well as numerous friends made along the way. Survivors include Pat's children: Lillis and Lynn Weatherford of Anna, Texas; Lillian and Jim Pruitt of Aurora, Missouri; James and Nora Sue of Anna, Texas; Brenda and Ron Taylor of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandchildren: Amanda Weatherford Phillips; Angela Weatherford Prough; Brian Martin; Kirston Martin Stroeder; Julie Weatherford Perkins; Cole Martin; Lacey Martin Lewis; Daniel Weatherford; Tasha Taylor Jones; Natasha Taylor Gentry; Jessica Taylor Pond; Christopher Taylor; Gary Kirby; Jason Pruitt; Grant Pruitt; Carey Pruitt Lowery; Rachel Pruitt; and 40 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
