Joyce Wallen was born on October 24, 1931.  She departed this worked for Heaven on March 7, 2020.
Joyce was superseded in death by her husband of 68 years, Marves Eugene Wallen; and nephew, Don McCurdy whom she reared and loved as a son; her parents, Walter and Clare Ireland, of Van Alstyne; one brother; and three sisters.
She is survived by Don's daughters, Many Montgomery and Sterling Bennett, whom she loved as granddaughters; one sister; nieces and nephews; 2 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons; special friends and loved ones.
Joyce will be remembered by family and friends as one who always put others first.
She loved and cared for the family members in their final days with great compassion and concern for their well being.
She loved cooking, gardening and traveling with her husband.  She was a member of Ida Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon at Van Alstyne cemetery in Van Alstyne with Ray Wallen officiating.
