young boy, a student in the Van Alstyne public schools, and about a
week ago became afflicted with pneumonia, and every effort made to
restore him back to health, but of no avail. The parents have the
sincere sympathy of all our people in the loss of their son, and coming
just at Christmas time makes it more sad for the once happy household.
A more extended notice will appear in our next issue.
Albert Leroy Turberville The
spirit of joy and gladness was turned into sorrow and mourning on
Christmas eve when the relatives and friends of Albert Leroy
Turberville were called together to show their love and respects at the
Methodist Church. Leroy, as he was called by all his friends was
ill just for a few days, and none believed that the end was near. But
an all wise providence knew better than any finite being, so on the
23rd day of December his soul went back to the good Father who gave it.
Leroy was a good boy and loved his home and his school. His teachers say that he was always anxious to please and to bring up good work in the school room. His school mates loved him as was shown by nearly all of them attending the funeral. Leroy was converted when eleven years old and joined the Methodist church. He knew that death was upon him and told him mother that he was ready to go. The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. Harrison Baker at the Methodist Church Christmas eve in the presence of a great concource of people, who were deeply touched by the going out of the life of such a promising young man. His father and mother are lonely but God cares for his own and has promised to gather all the faithful together at the end when Jesus shall come again. --- W. H. B.
