DEATH ROLL
Funeral services for Roscoe Tooley, of Van Alstyne, were conducted Monday afternoon from the First Christian Church in that city, with interment in the Van Alstyne cemetery, Rev. Lloyd Motley, former pastor of the church there, officiated, with the undertaker as Fox Fanning.  Mr. Tooley died early Sunday
morning with a heart attack.
He was the father of Paul Tooley, editor of the Denison Herald, who with another son, Wallace, just returned from 3 years in the service, with the widow survive.

Van Alstyne -- Graveside services for Wallace Tooley, 91, of Van Alstyne will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Van Alstyne cemetery. Wallace passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne. He was born May 14, 1921 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Roscoe and Sallie Kerr Tooley. He married Betty Estill October 14, 1950 in Mckinney, Texas.
Wallace served in the United States Army, was a member of the 1st Christain Church in Van Alstyne and a 65-year member of the Mantua Masonic Lodge #209 where he was a past Master. Wallace was also a member of the Eastern Star, served on the Van Alstyne School Board and was the Van Alstyne Panther football announcer for many years.
Wallace and his wife Betty owned and operated the Tooley Variety store in Van Alstyne for many years.
Wallace is survived by his wife, Betty Tooley of Van Alstyne; son, Joe Tooley of Rockwall, Texas; son and his wife, Jimmie and Linda Estill of Texarkana, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Wallace was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Paul, Alton and Clifton.
Memorials may be made to the Meadowbrook Care Center or the 1st Christian Church in Van Alstyne.
Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas
