Arthur Todd 12 July 1899 - 18 March 1998  Lillian Todd 1902 - 1947 Van Alstyne Leader May 9, 1947 Page 4 IN MEMORIAM Born in Alabama in 1902, converted when a young girl, she united with the Baptist Church and has lived a true Christian life. She passed away April 25, 1947. She set an example worthy to follow by us all. She was married to Arthur Todd in the summer of 1920. To this union 5 girls came to bless their home, all of whom survive her. It was a blessing to know she is at rest. She is happy now in the home of the good, while we weep and mourn her departure. To know her was to love her. She was so quiet in disposition, tender loving mother and grandmother, a faithful, patient, good wife. She leaves 3 grandsons; she was so fond of them all. Loved by all that knew her, her place can't be filled in the community or Church. Her Christian heritage is a wonderful example for her sisters, brothers and friends and to her husband, daughters and two sons-in-law. All of them loved her dearly. Hers is a name to be proud of; a record that will stand. And to her mother and Mr. Todd's mother we will say she is one more jewel on the other side to greet us when we are called to go. Heaven is more wonderful; a treasure is there beckoning us to press onward and upward. The funeral was held at Gunter Baptist Church . . . was a member by her . . . Rev. Thomas and Rev. . . . of Sherman with a . . . sweet singers. But a voice was silent....we can never hear again .... we meet at Jesus' feet. Some glad day we shall never to part, there to . . . the celestial city with wife . . . ter, mother and daughter waiting for you. The floral offering was so lovely and full.
