 Troy Tillett 1898 - 1969 Opal Tillett 1908 - 1989 Sherman Democrat November 30, 1969 VAN ALSTYNE - Troy Tillett, 71, retired Van Alstyne farmer, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday in a Sherman hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery, directed by Flesher Funeral Home. Mr. Tillett was born in Texas March 29, 1898. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Opal Tillett; three daughters, Mrs. Jewell Green and Mrs. Joyce Wright, both of Southgate, Calif., and Mrs. Claudine Wallace of Paramount, Calif.; a son, M.J. Tillet of El Monte, Calif.; four brothers, Leon Tillett of Wylie, Jim Tillett of McKinney, C.W. Tillett of Van Alstyne and A.L. Tillett of Durant; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell Hendricks of Anna and Mrs. Gertrude Dowell of Farmers Branch; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
