 Sarah E. Thompson 15 November 1851 - 4 April 1925 w/o B. F. Thompson April 9, 1925 MRS. SARAH E. THOMPSON Although not unexpected because of her advanced years and for the reason that she had long been seriously ill, the news of the death of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Thompson, which occurred early last Saturday morning, was received with sincere regret and genuine sorrow by all of the friends of Mrs. Thompson, her husband, B.F.Thompson, and the other members of her family. Mrs. Thompson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. Orrederiff, where she has lived for a number of years. Mrs. Thompson was born as Miss Sarah Elizabeth Webb of ___ County, Tennessee on November 15, 1851. Early in her young womanhood, she was converted and became affiliated with the Methodist church of which body she was a ___ and most faithful member until she was gathered late in the rest of womanhood those who are faithful until the end. On December 28, 1971, Miss Webb became Mrs. B. F. Thompson by marriage. Mr. Thompson surviving her with their children: Mrs. O. Orenderiffof Van Alstyne, Mrs. Lillian Lively of Dallas, and Joe H. Thompson............. they moved to Whitewright, from which place they came to Van Alstyne, being highly esteemed and respected residents here for the past 15 years. By all with whom she came into contact or to whom she was known, Mrs. Thompson was beloved and admired. Her forced seclusion because of illness took nothing from the beauty of her character and the sterling quality of the womanhood which made of her in all of the elements required the ideal wife and mother, the devout and ___ Christian and the constant and loyal neighbor and friend. Her death was the cause of an outpouring of an abundance of sympathy and condolence for her family and relatives and of stout profound condolence from all of the hosts of friends who were hers in life. Funeral services were held from the Orenderiff home on Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. B. Fielder, pastor of the Methodist church and J. D. L. McKinney. Beautiful and touching tributes were paid to Mrs. Thompson by the speakers and the impressive utterances found ready response in the emotions of the many friends present in evidence of their friendship and sympathy for the bereaved family and the departed neighbor and friend. A profusion of floral offerings attested the esteem in which Mrs. Thompson was held. Interment was had at the local cemetery where many gathered to witness the simple rites by which the remains were returned in their mortal form to the dust from whence they came. Pallbearers were chosen as follows: _.E. Brown, L. A. Cartwright, Dr. S. D. Moore, John W. Drye, Sewell McKinney, Carlyle Moore. To the family and relatives, the sympathy of all of the people of this community is vouchsafed in sincerity and in abundance.
